Cesar Millan burst onto the scene 12 years ago with his unique style of “training the humans instead of the dogs.” His techniques are widely debated among trainers and animal welfare groups. Now, the self-taught “Dog Whisperer” has made himself a target for a whole new reason.
In an interview with FeMail, he declared that the millennial generation is too self-involved to be responsible dog owners.
I love seeing humans and dogs working together. A few warriors from the Wounded Warrior Project came out to my NYC book signing with their service dogs. Thank you for your service!

The 47-year-old dog behaviorist and owner of 20 dogs from various breeds and backgrounds feels that in order to properly care for a canine you must understand their psychology and individual needs. He says that this is impossible for millennials to accomplish because they are technology-obsessed and cut off from the world.
“Millennials shouldn’t adopt dogs yet. They are always on their phone and have no idea how to relate on a personal matter. They’re not ready to have a one-on-one relationship,” He told the DailyMail subsidiary, FeMail. “A lot of millennials feel independent and can do their own thing, but they have no idea how to relate with other human beings.”
Love is one of the greatest gifts we can share with our dogs, or anyone for that matter. It’s also important to take moments to love ourselves. Happy Valentine’s Day!

Millan further explained that millennials would do best to foster a dog rather than adopt or purchase one in order to test their preparedness.
“They’re being given everything, how are they going to maintain a dog?”
The star of several television shows and accomplished author not only feels that the latest adult generation is anti-social, selfish, spoiled and glued to their cellphones, he also blames their lack of human children on their inability to care for a dog.
“The new generation brought the dog inside. But that’s because the new generation don’t have children. You need to fill that empty space. You need to love somebody and you need to touch somebody.”
